125th Anniversary Rosewood Model - Our Summary
The 125th Anniversary guitars from Washburn are surely one of the most exciting instruments we are likely to see in 2008. An industry milestone celebrated with limited edition models which are of an excellent standard and best of all, affordable.
The guitar is made from solid tone woods and a classic combination of Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides which has stood the test of time. A lovely warm resonant sound is given maturity with hint of "snap" and sparkle thanks to the Rosewood back and sides. For it's small size it has plenty of projection with the sound being well balanced across the board.
The guitar also features a gorgeous Ebony fingerbord, smooth and dark it is adorned by an attractive125th Anniversary logo around the 12th fret. The neck material is Mahogany one piece vintage V shape accurate to the old models. It really helps you dig the thumb into the back of the neck and gain leverage when playing. A very nice feature. It is smooth and tactile to play.
The actions of the guitars are nice and low and are fully checked over by Rich Tone Music staff before being sent out of the door to further guarantee a quality playing experience.
Washburn have done everything right with these guitars. They have made them to a very high standard, rooted in the history of the brand with quality woods and build standard. They have finished off the package nicely with a vintage style Washburn hard case and a full certificate and history booklet specifc to these limited edition guitars.
These parlour guitars are the perfect noodling guitar - they have left our hands since arriving and deserve a place in every Washburn fan's living room/studio etc.
These guitars are most definitely "keepers"!
